Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 May 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store small flags in your browser without sending them to a server. This policy covers both.
2. Cookies & storage we use on Business Pathfinder
| Item | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
business-pathfinder.offer-banner.dismissed | localStorage (strictly necessary) | Remembers that you've dismissed the top offer banner so we don't keep showing it. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Hosting / security | Strictly necessary | Set by our hosting provider to deliver pages securely, balance load, and prevent abuse. | Session — 12 months |
| Analytics (if enabled) | Analytics | Privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics so we can understand which content is useful. | Up to 14 months |
3. Third-party affiliate cookies
Business Pathfinder earns referral commissions when you click an outbound link to a partner provider — most commonly Tide and Capital on Tap — and subsequently sign up. When you click such a link:
- You leave Business Pathfinder and land on the partner's own website.
- The partner (and/or their affiliate network) may set cookies in their domain to attribute the referral to us.
- These cookies are controlled by the partner, not by us, and are subject to the partner's own privacy and cookie policies.
We do not set cross-site tracking cookies on Business Pathfinder itself.
4. How to control cookies
You can:
- Clear cookies and localStorage in your browser settings at any time.
- Use private / incognito browsing so storage is wiped when you close the window.
- Block third-party cookies in your browser, which will limit affiliate attribution for partner links (you can still sign up directly with the partner if you prefer).
- Use browser-level "Do Not Track" or privacy extensions; we honour these where technically possible.
For details on managing cookies in popular browsers, see aboutcookies.org.
